2. To get into trouble (because of someone); to be caught or blamed (by someone). My friend and I got burned by the police when we tried racing our cars down an empty street. I got burned for trying to help my girlfriend cheat during our exam, so now I have to retake the entire course.
3. To be verbally insulted (by someone). Did you hear what she just called you? You got burned, man! I can't believe I just got burned by my little brother.
