To believe that one is too important or special to do something. Geez, does that intern really feel it beneath him to get coffee for us? I may be a CEO, but I don't feel it beneath me to clean my own house, OK?

to feel that one would be lowering oneself to do something. Tom feels it beneath him to scrub the floor. Ann feels it beneath her to carry her own luggage. I would do it, but I feel it beneath me.
