However, conversely, if you have no hope of surviving your illness/ disability, why, oh why, can't you, as a human being with hopefully all your mental capabilities, have the expressed wish to end your life with dignity rather than, as mentioned above, suffer the indignity of growing old and having to rely on strangers doing all those personal things for you that "normal people" take to be as normal.
So, surely if you want to end your life and, of course, you have all your mental faculties and the support of your family and your doctors, you should be allowed to do so.
