To act as someone else has or usually does. Sally did a Mom and hit the trash cans while backing out of the driveway. Don't do a me and sign the contract before you read it—I'm still paying for that mistake.
do a somebody(informal) do or behave as somebody did or would do: Now don’t go and do a Mr. Carpenter on us. He told us he was leaving only three weeks before he went, and it took us months to find a replacement.
