To travel from one point to another. These two buildings are so far apart that I practically have to cross from one end of campus to the other! They have to cross from the island to the mainland and back just to get groceries.

cross from some place to some place

to move across something from one point to another. We crossed from one side of the hall to the other, looking for a seat. I have to cross from Illinois to Missouri over a rickety old bridge.
