To foresee addressing something in a manner that cannot be easily undone or reversed (often because one has behaved offensively or unfavorably). Mike's so impetuous that I'm sure he'll burn that bridge when he comes to it, just like all the other opportunities he's squandered throughout the years. A: "You know that this move is going to piss off our distribution partners, right?" B: "Well, let's just burn that bridge when we come to it, eh?"
