badge bunny

A woman who is exclusively or primarily attracted to those who wear a badge on the job, such as policemen or firemen. There is one woman who seems to appear whenever I am out on duty; I think she's a bit of a badge bunny.

lost-and-found badge

An identification tag worn by armed forces members on a chain around their necks. I kept my lost-and-found badge from the First Gulf War to remind me how tough life can really get. The bodies in the unmarked graves were buried with their lost-and-found badges, so military personnel were able to identify them and repatriate their remains home.

turn in (one's) badge

To stop working. I can't believe it's time to turn in my badge already—this internship just flew by! My father recently turned in his badge after 30 years at the same job.

We don't need no stinkin' (something)!

Used humorously to emphasize that one absolutely does not need something. Popularized in the 1974 film Blazing Saddles as "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!," parodying a similar line in the 1948 film The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and the 1927 novel on which it's based. What do you want to go to college for? You don't need no stinkin' college degree! Just get a job as a mechanic like your old man here! A: "How can people deny something that is a scientific fact?" B: "Seriously! People are like, 'Science? We don't need no stinkin' science!'"

wear (something) as a badge of honor

To consider something to be a point of pride, especially that which is typically considered negative. He's the kind of person who wears the "male chauvinist pig" label like some kind of badge of honor, so I try to have as little as possible to do with him. I don't take their social media attacks to heart. In fact, I wear it as a badge of honor—it means I'm riling them up, which I'm delighted about!
