Having a very close relationship; inseparable. I haven't talked to Patty in years, but we were as close as two coats of paint as kids. If anyone knows where John is hiding, it's Marty. Those two are close as two coats of paint. Those kids have the same wacky sense of humor—I'm not surprised to hear that they're close as two coats of paint.
