1. To be unable or find it very difficulty to achieve, obtain, devise, or produce something. I was stuck for words when they presented me the award. I used to be able to crank out a new book every year, but lately I've been stuck for ideas.
2. To lack or be deprived of something. Shoot, I'm stuck for cash at the moment—would you mind paying for dinner? Ever since Tom moved to Nebraska, I've been stuck for a tennis partner.
