(redirected from am out on the town)

be out on the town

To be in a town or city, especially in the evening, in order to have an entertaining or enjoyable time, typically by visiting various establishments such as restaurants, clubs, etc. We were out on the town last night for Valerie's birthday, that's why we're all exhausted today. Since we're usually home with the kids, my husband and I are very excited to be out on the town tonight.
