Of little or no importance, value, or worth. For all the congressman's posturing about overhauling the tax system, his plan to do so isn't worth a bean. They only wanted you to get the lab up and running. You're not worth a bean to them now.

Completely worthless or useless; having little or no value. Primarily heard in UK. I was so excited when my grandfather said he'd give me his car, but this old clunker isn't worth beans. Over the years working here, I've come to realize that the boss's word ain't worth beans.
