bust (one's) agates
1. rude slang To harass, nag, or upbraid one to do, accomplish, or complete something. An "agate" here refers to a playing marble made of agate quartz, used as a euphemism for the testicles. The boss is busting everyone's agates to get the project ready by next week. Quit busting my agates! I'll get it done eventually!
2. rude slang To tease, ridicule, or mock one, usually humorously. Don't get so worked up, man, I'm just busting your agates. I like her family, but her uncle always busts my agates when we see him.
