Used to highlight a very obvious trait or characteristic of someone or something. Used primarily in Internet humor, especially memes. Sometimes referred to as "redundant adjectives are redundant." Ah, yes, that's a familiar political tactic. Blatant propaganda is blatant. A: "How can you watch such a mindless movie filled with gunshots and bloodshed." B: "What can I say—gratuitous violence is gratuitous!"
