1. A particularly strong or noteworthy performance, as in a film or play. With her star turn in that film, I think we'll be hearing about this actress for years to come.

2. A prominent, noteworthy role in something. I'm not the biggest fan of basil—it really has its star turn in pesto, and that's about it.
