a shopping spree

a shopping spree

A period of time in which one spends a large amount of money purchasing many items, usually in an impulsive manner. A: "Every time Henry gets paid, he seems to go on a shopping spree." B: "Right? He always shows up at work in a beautiful new designer suit a few days after payday." I currently have $13 in my bank account, so there are no shopping sprees in my future! Wow, that's a lot of bags! Guess you went on a bit of a shopping spree after work.
