hot take

An opinion or analysis published, broadcast, or otherwise issued very soon after the topic in question has occurred or become timely, often produced without much research and with the primary intention of being provocative in order to generate attention. The news cycle is filled with hot takes on every single issue—are we incapable of waiting to form a rational, well thought-out opinion? Twitter is a gold mine for garbage hot takes.
