gottle of geer

cliché A phrase used to imitate and thus represent ventriloquism (due to how famously difficult the phrase is for ventriloquists to say). Often used to imply or indicate ventriloquism in a metaphorical sense. "Of" is sometimes shortened to "’o." A: "Want to come see an amateur ventriloquist performance?" B: "And watch some schmuck with a dummy try to say 'gottle ’o geer' for an hour? No thanks." A: "He's basically just a puppet being used by the leader of the other country." B: "It's so true. Can you say 'gottle of geer,' anyone?"
