1. A friendly, amiable, and positive regard for someone or something. He was my favorite professor, always a smile on his face and a good word for everybody. I don't understand why she stays in the same job if she never has a good word to say about it.
2. Positive or favorable information. I just got the good word from the realtor—we got the house!
