a dialogue of the deaf
a dialogue of the deaf
A situation in which people share their views without actually listening or acknowledging each other. As long as those two are still in a dialogue of the deaf, we'll never reach an agreement. A: "Wait, that negotiation is still going on?" B: "Oh yes. Both sides are locked in a dialogue of the deaf!" Guys, shouting at each other in a dialogue of the deaf is not going to solve anything—you need to actually listen to each other.
