A town or city that is particularly small, unremarkable, or unpopulated. This place is hugely popular now, but 10 years ago, it was just a wide place in the road no one had heard of. It's a wide place in the road—just a post office, a general store, and a few houses—but it's a lovely place to call home all the same.
