walk the walk and talk the talk
walk the walk and talk the talk
To take action that backs up one's words. The phrase is used in many different forms, most often to indicate that one is being boastful or to express doubt that one can carry out what they have claimed. Chelsea talks a big game, but she can back it up too—she definitely walks the walk and talks the talk. Anybody can run their mouth like that, but can you walk the walk and talk the talk?
