turn (one's) nose up
To reject someone or something with disdain (which can be accompanied by one literally tilting their head back so that their nose is in the air). When given a seat beside local fishermen at the event, the duke turned his nose up and walked away. The members of the board may turn their noses up at our plan, but they'll come to realize that it's the only chance we have of keeping the company afloat.
