1. To spend wastefully or frivolously. You can't just throw money around every month and expect to have enough left to pay the bills—you have to stick to a budget. This lady comes in the shop every Friday to throw her money around on anything she likes.
2. To wield influence through one's wealth. You think you can come in here and just throw your money around to get what you want? The big industries don't mind throwing money around to influence legislation—it pays for itself in the end.
