the man of the house

the man of the house

The male who assumes the most responsibility in a household. My dad left when I was 12, so it was up to me to be the man of the house. I didn't really get to have a childhood after that. I'm afraid you'll have to ask the man of the house, as he's the one who makes those sorts of decisions around here. Since there was no man of the house after my dad died, my mom and I became pretty good at fixing plumbing and electrical issues.
