1. adjective, slang Drunk. I hadn't eaten all day, so I started to get tanky after my second drink.
2. noun, obsolete slang A Royal Navy sailor charged with maintaining the ship's freshwater tanks or with another responsibility reserved for junior sailors. Primarily heard in UK. He is recorded in the log as a freshwater tanky, meaning that he was responsible for maintaining the ship's water supplies.
