take trouble over (something)
To invest a lot of time, attention, or effort into something. Often modified with "a lot of," "so much," "too much," etc., before "trouble." She takes a lot of trouble over her appearance, so she was very upset when the stylist used the wrong color in her hair. Please don't take too much trouble over this assignment; I want it to be a bit of casual writing for each of you.
