Nothing for one to gain from a particular situation. Why should I help that jerk when there's nothing in it for me?

anything/nothing/something in it for somebody

(informal) any/no/some advantage, especially financial, to somebody: He wanted to know more about the business but I told him there was nothing in it for him.
