not get out much

To be strange, awkward, or unusual, especially in social situations, from or as from remaining indoors by oneself for long periods of time. Typically used facetiously. A: "That was kind of a big reaction. All I said was that we should get coffee tomorrow." B: "Sorry, I don't get out much, haha. Coffee sounds great!" A: "Their son is rather odd, and he's obsessed with model airplanes." B: "I don't think he gets out much."
