nine-to-five job

A job with standard working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM (or close to that range), Monday to Friday. I got so depressed working the same nine-to-five job for so many years, that I finally sold all my belongings and moved to India to teach English. When I was in college, all I wanted was a steady nine-to-five job that would pay a decent salary.

a job with normal daytime hours. I wouldn't want a nine-to-five job. I like the freedom I have as my own boss. I used to work nights, but now I have a nine-to-five job.
