long-lost

long-lost

1. Having been missing for a long time. A: "Are those my long-lost mittens?" B: "Yep, you must have left them in my car last year." Based on all the dust, that must be Billy's long-lost teddy bear.
2. Having not been seen for a long time. I can't believe my long-lost sister is coming for Thanksgiving. I haven't seen her in years!
