1. To tell the correct time. Said of a watch, clock, or other such timepiece. Even after all these years, my grandfather's pocket watch still keeps good time.
2. To tend to be prompt and on time. Don't worry, he keeps good time. If he said he'd be here at 6 sharp, then that's when we'll see him.
3. To be able to maintain a consistent rhythm in accompaniment to music. She has a wonderful voice, but she sadly doesn't keep good time at all.
