1. slang Of a very inferior, unreliable quality or condition. When you travel as much as I do, you get used to staying in some pretty janky hotel rooms. I don't know that I feel comfortable driving all that way in Tom's janky van!

2. slang Not working, looking, or performing smoothly or correctly. Often said of computer hardware or software. This old computer of mine has gotten pretty janky over the years, but I can't bring myself to buy a new one. I remember being blown away by these graphics when I was a kid, but they look so janky now!
