it's nothing

it's nothing

1. You're welcome; it was no burden to me. A polite and humble deflection of praise or thanks. A: "Thank you so much for helping me with my term paper!" B: "It's nothing, glad I could help." A: "Sarah here is the real hero. If it weren't for her, the whole company would have tanked!" B: "Ah, now, it was nothing. I was just doing my job."
2. It is not worth your concern; don't worry about it. A: "Sorry I didn't call you back. I've just been so busy with work." B: "Don't worry, it's nothing. I was just calling to see how you're doing." A: "Hey, what's this expense for $200 on the bank statement?" B: "Oh, that? It's nothing, just something I needed for my computer."
3. It is not worth your attention; forget about it. A: "Go ahead, what were you going to say?" B: "Never mind, it's nothing." There's one other issue I wanted to mention. Actually, you know what—it's nothing. It's getting late, so let's just wrap the meeting up for today.
