it's all downhill (from here/there)

1. Something is or will become increasingly worse or more difficult. Once my parents open my report card and see how bad my grades are, well, it's all downhill from there. The company was just starting to turn a profit again, but it was all downhill after the scandal came to light.
2. Something is or will become increasingly easier. I'm sure I can finish the rest of the experiment on my own—it's all downhill from here. The hardest part of the process was getting the application approved. Now that we have everything in place, it's all downhill!
