insert between (two things)

To place or slide something in between two other things. A noun or pronoun can be used between "insert" and "between." Well, the babysitter just called—it seems that Eddie inserted his head between two of the posts on the railing and got stuck. Insert this file between "A" and "B," will you? No, I don't like the flower arrangement so far. What if I inserted the purple dahlia between these two mums, hmm?

to put something in between things. Insert this marker between pages ten and eleven. A marker was inserted between the pages.
