Irritating one, especially by impeding or interfering with one's activity or productivity. The kids are totally getting in my hair today, so I need you to take them out of the house for a little bit. The new intern has been in my hair all day, so I don't know how I'm going to get my report finished before the deadline. The interior designer can't get any work done if your puppy's in her hair like this!

1. Lit. tangled in someone's hair. (*Typically: be ~; get [into] ~.) My bubble gum got in my hair and I had to cut it out.
2. Fig. annoying someone. (*Typically: be ~; get [into] ~.) You can watch what lam doing, but don't get in my hair. I wish you wouldn't get in my hair when I'm trying to do something.
