in between times

At intervals or periods of time between other events or activities. I'm a full-time student and a waiter at a local restaurant, but in between times, I've been trying to write a novel. I have no in between times—not with a full-time job and three young kids! I act as much as I can, but in between times, I like to paint and explore the arts in other creative ways.
