In a recent enough time as to be remembered by people who are alive today. (Usually used in negative statements.) There hasn't been a blizzard like this in living memory! Of course no one can speak to a stock market crash like this—there hasn't been one in living memory. I don't remember an election cycle like this in living memory—do you?
