if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows

if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows

proverb If one spends time with bad people, one will eventually become like them or suffer a similarly bad fate. I worry about my brother hanging out with all those troublemakers—if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows, you know? I'm a firm believer that if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows, so I don't trust anyone who hangs out with that slimy politician. A: "Why has my reputation taken a hit? I wasn't involved in their crimes!" B: "It doesn't matter—if you fly with the crows, you get shot with the crows."
