hyggelig

hyggelig

Cozy, relaxing, and enjoyable. This term, approximately pronounced "HUE-guh-li," comes from the Danish word "hygge," which describes an appreciation of life's simple pleasures. Primarily heard in US. It's been so gloomy and cold this winter that I appreciate these hyggelig moments at home more than ever. Oh, I'm not going anywhere for Christmas. I'm just hoping for some hyggelig time at home with my family. I have too much energy to just sit around and knit, but that's a hyggelig activity for my sister. Who am I to judge?
