hophead

hophead

slang
1. Someone who is addicted to drugs, especially narcotics. Yeah, I used to be a hophead, back before I went to rehab. He used to be a real upright guy with a bright future ahead of him. Now he's just a hophead who spends each day looking for his next hit. Addiction is a powerful thing. Today's hopheads were yesterday's recreational drug users.
2. One who is apt to drink alcohol often and excessively. Geez, if we go to the bar a third time this week, we're gonna look like a couple of hopheads! Yeah, I drink sometimes, but I'm no hophead. I just have a glass of wine every so often. I used to be a real hophead and spent all of my time in bars, but that was before I went to rehab.
