home-field advantage

The tendency for sports teams to have a performance advantage against their opponent when playing at the facility of their own school, town, or state. Said of sports in which teams play on outdoor or indoor fields, such as football or soccer. The high school football team will have home-field advantage for the big Thanksgiving game this year, so come out and show your support. The Super Bowl is always played at a neutral location so as not to give either team a home-field advantage. I have mixed feelings about home-field advantage. I feel like being at home just tends to put more pressure on my athletes.
