hold good
To be or remain true, valid, or applicable. The law must hold good for every person in society, not just those who earn the most money. The same holds good today, even with all the recent technological advancements we've made. "Treat others as you would want to be treated" is an axiom that always holds good, in my opinion.

Also, hold true. Be valid, apply. For example, Does that version of events still hold good? or The account he gave ten years ago holds true today. Shakespeare used these terms frequently. [c. 1300]
