here to stay
be here to stay
To be permanent or firmly established; to be a normal part of everyday life, especially after once being considered abnormal or unusual. A lot of people see the ubiquity of the Internet as the death of face-to-face communication, but at this point it is very much here to stay. I sure hope backup cameras in cars are here to stay. I don't think I could drive without one now! People in the mid-2000s thought the iPod was here to stay, until it was eclipsed by the iPhone.
