hear the end of (someone or something)

To have the final encounter with a certain person or thing. Often used in the negative to indicate that someone or something will be encountered again in the future. I doubt we've heard the end of Mr. Cramer—he frequently complains to our department. When will I hear the end of this stupid fight between you two? Please tell me I've finally heard the end of this case. The jury rendered a verdict—we all have to accept it and move on.
