To scold or punish someone harshly. The boss will have my hide if he finds out that I was the one responsible for the printing error. Young lady, I will have your hide if you disobey me again! A: "Mom and Dad will have your hide if they find out you snuck out last night." B: "That's why they can't find out—understood?"
