have an about-face on (something)

To completely reverse one's opinion, position, or course of action regarding some issue, especially very suddenly. The senator seems to have had an about-face on the tax proposal, much to the surprise of his party. Once she saw how much money the company stood to lose, the CEO had an about-face on her decision. I highly doubt these new ads will prompt anyone to have an about-face on their candidate of choice.
