To investigate or look through something, typically a place or area, often casually. Please tell me that the cops won't find any incriminating evidence if they have a poke around your office. I had a poke around in the archives, and I found several unlabeled files. You're in charge of the employee files, right? So just have a poke around and let me know if anything's missing all of a sudden.
