To have a good sense of a situation or how to do something; to have substantial knowledge or experience in something. Once I have a feel of the company's daily operations, I'll be more comfortable in this management role. The new mayor still doesn't seem to have the feel of running a city. Once you spend more time on the ranch, you'll have a feel of the horses' temperaments.
