To no longer be trendy or fashionable. If skinny jeans ever go out of fashion, I'll have no pants to wear. I'm sorry, Grandma, but shag carpeting has definitely gone out of fashion. I miss the big hair of the '80s. Why did that ever have to go out of fashion?

to become unfashionable; to become obsolete. That kind of furniture went out of style years ago. I hope this kind of thing never goes out of fashion. It went out years ago.
